Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has fulfilled his pledge to a street puff-puff seller, Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo, by appointing her as a chef in the Government House and awarding her a full scholarship.

Adejumo first came to public attention during a labour rally in Osogbo on August 29, when a video showed Adeleke buying all her snacks for ₦50,000 and promising her a job.

On Friday, the governor announced on his X handle that he had officially presented her appointment letter.

“A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo during the rally where labour unions and other groups declared their support for my re-election. Today, I have kept that promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs. Beyond this, I have also approved a scholarship for her up to the Master’s level, should she wish to further her education,” Adeleke wrote.

Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education and has catering training, expressed her gratitude after receiving the appointment.

Meanwhile, Adeleke also commissioned the long-abandoned Osun Farmers’ House in Osogbo, a project started under former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola but left idle by later administrations.

According to him, reopening the facility reflects his government’s plan to revive agriculture and support farmers.

“This milestone shows how serious we are about meeting the needs of our farmers while driving transformation in every sector of our state. I sincerely appreciate the support from Osun’s farmers and reaffirm my pledge to revitalise agriculture as part of our larger mission to secure food for our people,” the governor said.
