The 16-time Grammy winner, Adele, announced she will be taking a “big break” from performing and has no plans to release new music anytime soon.

This comes as she wraps up her two-year Las Vegas residency, “Weekends with Adele,” at Caesars Palace in November.

Adele, who gained global success with her 2011 album “21,” told a German broadcaster she wants to focus on her life outside of music after her concert residency ends.

“My tank is quite empty from being on stage every weekend in Las Vegas,” Adele told ZDF. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.”

She is currently on a break from the residency to spend the summer in Germany, including 10 shows in Munich, and will return to Las Vegas in October for 10 more shows.

Adele, now 36, hasn’t released new music since her album “30” came out in November 2021. She told the German station she doesn’t “have any plans for new music, at all.”

Over the past two years, Adele has played more than 100 shows in Las Vegas. Her residency has been extended several times beyond its original end date and often goes viral for her candid exchanges with fans and cheeky jokes.

Adele’s career has been marked by major milestones with each of her records. Her first album, “19,” released in 2008, won her the Best New Artist award at the Grammys.

Her next album, “21,” became the world’s best-selling album for 2011 and 2012, and is the fourth best-selling album of all time in Britain. It won the Album of the Year award at the Grammys, which she also won with “25” and “30.”

Adele is the first solo artist to ever win the accolade three times. In total, Adele has won 16 Grammys and has had 25 songs make the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including five No. 1 hits: “Easy On Me” (10 weeks), “Hello” (10 weeks), “Rolling In The Deep” (7 weeks), “Someone Like You” (5 weeks), and “Set Fire To The Rain” (2 weeks).

50.9 million. That’s how many people listen to Adele at least once a month on Spotify.

Tickets to Adele’s residency had an average cost of $1,500 in the first half of the year, making her shows the most expensive in the country so far in 2024.

“Weekends With Adele” tickets sold on ticket resale website SeatGeek for an average of $1,462 in 2024.
