The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, is 77 years old today and thousands of well wishes all over the world have been sending congratulatory messages to the respected clergyman.

Fondly called Daddy GO, many well wishes poured encomium on the clergyman who is known for his simplicity and his passion for winning souls for Christ.

While many would have thought that the renowned septuagenarian would have celebrated his big day in a grand way,  he chose to bless his spiritual children through a three day special Holy Ghost service at the Redemption Camp.

Adeboye’s influence, popularity and undeniable anointing have made him one of the most sought after and respected man of God, however, his enviable humbleness has remained second to none.

Even at 77, it is interesting to note that the GO will stand for hours preaching with radar-sharp alertness without showing any sign of fatigue.

WuzupNaija reports that some days back, RCCG youths organised a 77 hours marathon praise to thank God for the life of their father in the Lord.

Youths gathered at the Redmptiomtion Camp to offer quality worship and praise to God for keeping his son alive and strong in the eternal race.

Many also joined worshipers online to thank God for Daddy GO via social media by connecting live to the marathon praise.

Adeboye has achieved, through various global Christian ministries and social organs, a great following for Christ Jesus. He sees the local church as one of the focal points of Christian discipleship, and thus plans to have an RCCG branch 5 minutes from every home in the world.

In furtherance of this goal, he oversees a network of over 40,000 parish-churches in 186 nations of the world. In the United States, there are over 600 several RCCG branches, the largest concentrations being in the states of Maryland, Texas, Illinois, California, and Washington D.C.Formerly a mathematics professor at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, he started working with the founder of RCCG by translating his sermons from Yoruba to the English language.

The leadership mantle fell on Pastor Enoch Adeboye in 1981, and since then, RCCG has experienced phenomenal growth and success, converting multitudes to Christ.

In recognition of his contribution as a global icon and preacher of God’s Word, he was selected in 2008 as one of the world’s 50 most influential people by Newsweek magazine, USA.
