Adamawa govt donates ₦50m, speedboats to Borno flood victims

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri has donated ₦50 million and six speedboats to Borno State to help victims of recent flooding.

In a statement on Thursday, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, said Governor Fintiri made the donation during a visit to Maiduguri.

He presented the funds and boats to Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and called for additional support for the affected communities.

Fintiri expressed sadness over the loss of lives and property caused by the flooding. He urged the federal government to take urgent action to address the situation.

In a show of solidarity, Governor Fintiri, along with Governor Zulum and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, took a boat ride to see the flood damage and offer their support to displaced residents.

Fintiri was joined by Secretary to the State Government Awwal Tukur, members of the State Executive Council, and friends.

The flooding in Maiduguri was caused by a broken spillway from the Alau Dam.
