The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved a new minimum wage of ₦70,000 for civil servants in the state.

The governor made this announcement on Monday through a post on his verified X account.

Fintiri stated that the payment of the new minimum wage will begin in August.

He emphasized that this decision reflects his administration’s dedication to the welfare of the state’s civil servants.

“As a demonstration of our commitment to the welfare of workers in Adamawa State, I have approved the payment of a ₦70,000 minimum wage starting this August. Our civil servants deserve this and more. Together, we will continue to build a prosperous future for all,” the governor wrote.

This decision follows Governor Fintiri’s earlier promise during the 2024 May Day celebration to implement the Federal Government’s decision on the new minimum wage.

President Bola Tinubu had signed the bill on the new national minimum wage into law after it was passed by the National Assembly in July.
