Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has issued a stern warning to a social media user who claimed she had a sexual relationship with singer Bella Shmurda, describing the allegation as a “lie” and threatening legal action.
The troll posted on X on Monday, alleging that Jombo and the singer had an encounter in 2021 before Shmurda became famous. The post quickly gained attention and began spreading online.
On Wednesday, the actress responded directly, demanding that the post be deleted immediately.
“This is how you lots think everything is click bait till you are in jail,” Jombo wrote. “Delete this lie immediately. I’m not one to play with. If you can’t respect the name, respect my age. This is your final warning. Remove my name and image from this.”
The actress did not address the allegation further beyond calling it false.
The incident comes amid a rise in cases of bloggers and social media trolls making unverified claims against Nigerian celebrities. Earlier this week, a Facebook blogger alleged that comedian Basketmouth’s 12-year marriage ended after he discovered his first child was not biologically his. His estranged wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, denied the claim and warned the blogger against targeting her children.
In March, musician Mr P also threatened legal action against an X user who insulted his late mother.
