Nigerian actress Halima Abubakar has publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman for defaming him.
In April, the Federal Capital Territory High Court fined Abubakar for making false and damaging comments about the Apostle, accusing him of breaking promises and being responsible for her health issues.
In a letter dated Saturday, October 5, 2024, Halima Abubakar expressed deep regret for her actions. She acknowledged that her statements about Apostle Suleman were false and apologized for the harm they caused him, his wife, and the Omega Fire Ministry.
“I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies,” Abubakar said. She added, “I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the Leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.”
Abubakar continued by asking for forgiveness, saying, “I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm, pains and distress I caused… Sir, you have done a lot for humanity, please, extend your hands of forgiveness toward me.”
The apology follows months of legal battles after the court ruled in favor of Apostle Suleman, ordering Abubakar to pay ₦10 million in damages. She now hopes that her public apology will help mend the situation.
She ended the letter by saying, “Once again, Sir, I am truly sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry. Thank you very much, and may the Heavens calm your heart. God bless you, Sir.”
