Popular Nigerian actress, Adunni Ade, has denied a viral quote on social media claiming she regrets not being married despite her beauty and fame.
The statement, which has been widely shared online, claimed that Adunni Ade said her looks and popularity were stopping her from finding a husband. But the actress said she never made such a comment and has threatened legal action if the post is not taken down.
In a post shared on her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Adunni Ade said, “I kindly request that you take down this post within 24 hours to prevent further action involving my legal team. I do not appreciate the fact that you’re using my name to peddle false news and articles with no verifiable source just to generate engagement.”
She explained that the quote did not come from any real interview or media outlet and warned those behind the post to stop using her name to spread lies.
Taking to her Instagram page, the actress also shared a warning in Pidgin, saying, “Trouble sleeping, yanga go wake am. Wetin you dey find? Na Palava you dey find, na palava you go see!”
Adunni Ade added that her last official media interview was in September 2024 during the promotion of the movie “Tokunbo.” She urged content creators and blogs to stop using her name to attract attention on social media.
The actress, who is known for her roles in both Nollywood and Yoruba films, has often spoken against false news and online bullying. She is now calling on the public and media platforms to respect her name and image.
