Actor Adedimeji Lateef puts ‘car for sale’ to shoot movie ‘Lisabi’

Popular Nollywood actor Adedimeji Lateef has opened up about his challenges while filming his recent movie, Lisabi.

In an interview with CityFM in a video shared online, the actor stated that he had a particular budget for the movie but spent five times what he envisaged.

He said, “ We went through a lot because it was more like we had a particular budget for this film, and then we had to spend times five.

“At a point, I put up my car for sale like Ogbeni if I get person wey go buy this car now, but luckily for me, I no see buyer.”

Further speaking on the setting of the movie, the actor said, “Everything you saw in that film was built from scratch because we wanted to put our all into it and make it stand out from what people have seen before.

“At a point, we didn’t have an idea of a pool, but we had to come up with it, and we shot just one scene in that movie, and we had to build a pool immediately for like N5 million.”

‘Lisabi the Uprising’ is a Yoruba historical epic that tells the story of Lisabi and the rise of the Egba people against the Oyo Empire, exploring the themes of oppression, unity, hard work, and love.

The movie was directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, produced by Adebimpe Oyebade and Victoria Akujobi, and written by Yinka Olaoye, Niyi Akinmolayan
