Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday, personally inspected ongoing projects in the metropolis.
Governor Wike was photographed yesterday inspecting the ongoing construction of the Second Nkpogu Bridge/Road and the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park.
The personal supervision coming from the governor is not surprising as it would be recalled that on April 1, Wike suspended the Commissioner for Works, Kelvin Wachukwu indefinitely.
Governor Wike explained to the public that Wachukwu, was suspended because of his negligence, dereliction to duty, especially his failure to monitor projects effectively.
Wike further revealed that he visited three project sites only to discover that the Commissioner for works failed to deploy site engineers to monitor the execution of the contracts from the standpoint of the state government.
