Ace Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, seems to be quite emotional as his son heads to the boarding house.

In a video shared on his verified Instagram account, the singer is seen teaching his son how to be prudent over breakfast.

During their conversation, the sonorous singer asks his son what he intends to do with his N5,000 weekly allowance.

The singer asked his son, Alexander, “Money talk is a very important talk. So, what do you think you want to do, how do you intend to spend your 5k?”

In response to his father’s question, the young lad describes himself as a child; a statement the singer quickly corrected. Alexander said, “Like a child would…”

Abruptly the ‘Good Nation’ singer corrected his son, reminding him that he is no longer a child, “No! No! you are not a child, you are 11. What do you want to use your N5,000 a week to do? I am asking”

Correcting himself, the younger Dakolo replied his father saying, “I am going to buy the latest and interesting books. Sometimes, I will use it to buy things like Berry Blast and bread and custard.”

After reeling out his plan, Timi enquired if his son made any room for savings from his weekly allowance. “…and there is no room for savings?” the singer asked.

His son quickly retracted his statement, assuring his father that he will only spend a quarter of his weekly allowance and save the rest. Alexander said, “There will be room for savings, I will use like quarter of it, then I will save the rest of it.”

Taking to the caption section of the father-son moment, the singer revealed that his mind is “not just accepting the fact that his son is going to secondary school”.

The singer wrote, “My mind is not just accepting that the chairman @alexanderdakolo is now a big boy and going to secondary school.

I still want to supervise his every deed and all, but he says ‘don’t worry daddy. I can do that myself’.

“I am secretly worried about who his friends would be and going as far as the girl he would like would look like. And how I will plead to her not to serve him breakfast (heart break). We use to talk about everything but guy man is now saying ‘you don’t need to know about that daddy.

I am fine’. Am not overreacting? The pocket money talk.”
