The protest against xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa which started in Lagos on Tuesday spread to other parts of the country on Wednesday.
WuzupNigeria reports that an irate mob razed MTN office located around Bodija area of Ibadan, Oyo State on Wednesday morning.
Multiple reports on social media on Wednesday morning also indicated that an irate mob took to the streets of Abuja to vandalise a billboard bearing MTN’s advertisement on Lugbe highway and also set fire on the telecommunication firm’s property in the city.
In viral videos shared on Twitter, the mob was seen destroying the MTN billboard at the junction of Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe in Abuja.
Other aggrieved protesters also reportedly burnt down MTN office at Lugbe, while some were seen in the footage on the highway leading to the Novare mall at Lugbe in what looks like an attempt to attack the mall.
A Twitter user said when the mob couldn’t gain access into the mall due to the heavy presence of policemen, “they burnt tires on the road which caused traffic gridlock around the area.”
