An FCT High Court has remanded two siblings and another suspect at the Suleja Correctional Centre over the alleged murder of Adimike Godwin in Abuja. This development has drawn attention to the Abuja father stabbing case.
According to The Punch, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command arraigned Adimike Anthony, Adimike Stephany and Comfort Ajibade on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit culpable homicide. They also face charges of culpable homicide. Moreover, they face offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act, as part of ongoing legal action in the case involving the stabbing of a father in Abuja.
The court adjourned the case until September 30, 2026, for further proceedings related to the widely publicised Abuja father stabbing case.
Police recount fatal Guzape incident
FCT Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh said officers responded to a distress call on May 15, 2026. The Abuja case of father stabbing was discovered after relatives reported they could not reach the deceased.
Detectives arrived at his residence in Guzape and found Adimike Godwin unconscious with multiple stab wounds. This was a critical aspect of the Abuja father stabbing case.
Police rushed him to Karu General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed him dead. This followed the Guzape stabbing incident involving a father, which forms the basis of the Abuja case.
“The tragic incident occurred on the 15th of May, 2026, when a distress call was received at the Guzape Divisional Headquarters from a relative of the deceased reporting that he was unresponsive to attempts to reach him,” Adeh said. She added that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, ordered a comprehensive investigation into the killing. This was in response to public concern surrounding the father stabbing case in Abuja.
Investigation leads to court arraignment
Investigators initially arrested five suspects, including the deceased’s driver and gateman. This was part of the inquiry into the Abuja father stabbing case.
