Abolishing pension for ex-Lagos govs an idea from the oracle, says Shehu Sani
A former senator of the All Progeressives Party, Shehu Sani has reacted to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s decison to abolis pensions for ex-governors.
The civil rights activist made his opinion on the matter known via a statement on his official Twitter account on Thursday.
Recall that the governor made the announcement while presenting the 2021 budget to the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
Sani who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District welcomed the move by Sanwo-Olu.
Although Sani labelled the move “good and commendable” he also threw a dig at the governor by saying that the idea must have been from the “oracle”.
“Abolishing pension for ex Lagos Governors is good and commendable. It must have been an idea from the Oracle.”
This statement would be referring to Sanwo-Olu’s first response to the attack on peaceful and armless #EndSARS proters by the military at the Lekki Toll Gate on the 20th of October where he claimed it was the work of forces beyond his control.
“This is the toughest night of our lives as forces beyond our direct control have moved to make dark notes in our history, but we will face it and come out stronger,” the governor said in a tweet.
Although the identity of those forces in question have remained incognito, Sani was quick to link them with the “oracle” he claimed to have been the origantor of the pension abolishment idea.
