The Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Umuahia has struck out two of the motions filed by the Petitioner, Chief Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, against Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party.

The motions were dismissed on the grounds of incompetence.

Some of the issues struck out by the panel included the Petitioner’s attempt to introduce new issues and to repeat themselves.

The panel is still reading its judgment on the entire petition, including the petition filed by High Chief Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress.

However, the court has thrown out two of the PDP’s arguments in the case challenging the election of Governor Otti.

The court is still considering the rest of the case, including the arguments made by the APC.
