Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, the Kebbi State High Court judge who was abducted about a week ago, has regained his freedom and safely returned home.
A family member confirmed his release on Monday, saying the judge arrived home just hours earlier after seven days in captivity.
“We are in jubilation and full of gratitude to God for his safe return. He has finally reunited with his family after a difficult week in the hands of his abductors,” the relative said.
The family also expressed appreciation to those who supported them during the period of uncertainty.
“We sincerely thank the Kebbi State Judiciary, security agencies, and the people of Kebbi State for their prayers, concern, and solidarity. Your support gave us strength throughout this trying time,” the source added.
According to the family, details of the judge’s release will be made public later.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Kebbi State Judiciary or security agencies regarding the development.
Justice Bunza’s abduction had sparked widespread concern across the state, with many calling for his immediate and safe release.
