A four-year-old boy identified as Ejeh Moses who was kidnapped during a communal clash between Ochoro and Bonta people in Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State a few days ago has been rescued.
No detail was given on how little Moses was rescued but the state governor Samuel Ortom had at the time of his abduction given a marching order to the elders of Konshisha to ensure the immediate rescue of the little boy.
Stakeholders from the council led by the Chairman, James Jirgba on Sunday presented the rescued boy to Ortom.
Ortom who received the boy at the government house, Makurdi, offered a scholarship to the boy from Nursery School to University level.
The governor directed the State Commissioner for Education, Professor Dennis Ityavyar, to process the scholarship for immediate action. Ortom said the child was a miracle child, having been kidnapped and released unhurt.
“Let the Commissioner for Education process the scholarship scheme immediately, it is the power of God that made it possible for the boy to be rescued,” the governor said.
He condemned the abduction and reaffirmed the resolve of his administration to fight crime in all ramifications.
He also commended the leaders of Konshisha for securing the release of the boy, even as he admonished youths against crimes.
