Abducted Ondo community leader Ajaguna escapes as kidnappers sleep off

The abducted community leader in Igasi Akoko in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State has escaped after his abductors reportedly fell asleep.

Chief Ojo Ajaguna was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen on Friday, leaving residents confused, according to The PUNCH.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed that the victim had returned home unhurt but added that the force had commenced investigation into the incident.

“Yes, it was reported to us that the victim was abducted, but he came back home safely and we have commenced investigation into the matter,” the PPRO said.

Meanwhile, his surprise escape has put a smile on the faces of the people in the community, according to a resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“The victim regained his freedom when the assailants slept off in the forest. The entire Igasi Akoko community was agog when he came back,” he stated.
