Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe has defected to the African Democratic Congress.
The lawmaker, who represents Abia South senatorial district in the National Assembly, formally resigned from the All Progressives Grand Alliance on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
According to a report by TVC News, other elected officials who have also joined the ADC include Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central; Senator Tony Nwoye of Anambra North; and Afam Ogene, the member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The list of defectors further includes former Imo State Governor, Achike Udenwa, alongside several other prominent political figures from the South-East region.
