Aba By-Election: PDP’s Ebisike defeats Uzor Kalu’s brother to clinch ticket
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Chimaobi Ebisike, has been declared winner of Saturday’s Aba North and South Federal Constituency by-election.
According to the Returning Officer for Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Fidelis Okpata, Ebisike polled 10,322 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mascot Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress candidate who scored 3,674 votes.
Mascot is the younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu who is currently representing Abia North senatorial district in the Red Chamber.
On the other hand, candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Destiny Nwagwu and the Action Alliance candidate, Okey Prestige polled 1,554 and 199 votes respectively to place distant third and fourth while the candidates of the APM and NRM scored 10 and 13 votes respectively.
