AA loses two Reps to APC

Two members of the House of Representatives defected from the Action Alliance to the All Progressives Congress.

The lawmakers from Imo State are Uju Chima Kingsley and Paschal Chigozie Obi.

The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, read a letter from the members announcing their defection at the plenary on Thursday.

The defectors later addressed journalists in company with the Organising Secretary of the APC, Emma Ibediro; and the Imo State governorship candidate of the AA in the 2019 general election, Uche Nwosu.

Obi, in a statement by Akwari Chika Onwukwe, his Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, described his defection to APC as a return to his home.

The statement reads,

“I’M BACK TO APC (MY HOME)

With great joy in my heart, I Dr. Paschal Chigozie Obi OD, Mph, Fnoa Honourable Member Representing Ideato North / Ideato South Federal Constituency & Chairman House Committee on Health Institutions announce my return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) where my political voyage started.

I left the party before 2019 General Elections for reason you all know.

It was a decision I had to take at that point in order to give chance for a day like this.

I’m back to our great party (APC) and more determined to broaden our scope and preach the message of change at all times.

I thank the leadership of the party from national to ward level and to all Nigerians who are desirous of a better country.

My sincere gratitude goes to the former Governor of Imo State and current Chairman Senate Committee on Culture & Tourism, Senator Owelle Rochas Okorocha who brought me to limelight.

More thanks to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma for his fatherly role that unified APC in our State. May God continue to bless, protect and guide you throughout your tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of our dear Imo.

To the good and hospitable people of Ideato North / Ideato South Federal Constituency, you are the best. I will surpass your expectations by God’s grace.
