A Million Tears actor, Emeka Ike, has announced his intention to run in 2019 general elections.

The 51-year-old actor announced his intention to contest for House of Representatives seat in Ideato South LGA of Imo State on his Instagram Page over the weekend.

Ike, who won the Celebrity Gulder Ultimate Search when it debuted in 2010, will contest on the platform of the Young Progressive Party (YPP).

He joined a growing list of Nollywood celebrities that have ventured into politics and are contesting in the 2019 polls.

Making the announcement on his page, he wrote,

YPP… the people friendly party… New blood… fresh breath… less clumsy…He accompanied his write up with a signboard of YPP and his posters. 

In another post, he said

“YPP is changing the grassroot narative… youths… it’s our time let’s go”.
