Being a commercial driver comes with some insults, risks and horrible experiences.
Uber, Taxify and other commercial cab drivers in Lagos are familiar with such experiences. While many have continued to endure all these just to earn a living, some who couldn’t just stand the insults have left the trade for other less insulting jobs.
A Nigerian Uber driver took to his Twitter page yesterday to narrate his humiliating experience with a female rider (passenger) who made a request for his cab.
He said the rider accused him of sexual harassment because he was putting on a short on the job.
The driver shared the story via his Twitter handle @Uber_that, an account he specially created to share his experiences as a Uber driver in Lagos.
He wrote:
“This Uber hustle comes with a lot of insults. I picked a lady up today and she complained about the fact that I was wearing shorts (in my own car oh).
“She said it’s sexual harassment and she will report me to Uber. I honestly don’t think it’s a big deal if am wear shorts.”
