At least 50 people have been rescued in the three-storeyed building which collapsed in the Itafaji area of Lagos Island.
Confirming this the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency General Manager, Tiamiyu Adesina, said they are intensifying efforts to get others out of the debris.
LASEMA also said they will be here all night until they can confirm that there’s nobody left under the debris.
The operation was put on hold for a few minutes when it was discovered that there is still power supply in one of the electric poles beside the building.
Emergency rescue agencies such as the LLASEMA, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), as well as security personnel are currently on ground at the scene of the incident.
The police, army and National Security and Civil Defence Force, NSCDC, are also making contributions with rescue operations.
