Ancient means of transportation may eventually be brought back as the ultimate relief for Nigerians following the recent fuel price hike.
It is not a joke. Even a serving senator is considering that option.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce in a tweet on Tuesday said he is “considering buying a horse.”
“Somebody is asking me for advice on how he can survive fuel price increase. What can I say? Personally I’m even considering buying a horse,” he said in a tweet that has been retweeted more than 1000 times.

So what’s your own strategy?
Murray-Bruce also appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to either increase minimum wage for workers or excuse them from paying tax to cushion the effects of the recent fuel price hike.
Murray-Bruce made the appeal via tweeter late Thursday night.
I appeal to @MBuhari to consider the immense suffering in Nigeria and increase minimum wage to help workers cope with increased fuel price,” he tweeted.
“Either @Mbuhari increases the minimum wage to help masses cope with increased fuel price or he should allow minimum wage earners pay no tax.”
He justified the call for increasing the minimum wage, saying the President and his cabinet, don’t buy fuel with their money, yet earn more than minimum wage workers who do.
He accused the government of first reneging on its promise ₦5000 allowance to poor Nigerians and further adding to the suffering by increasing the fuel price.
Already FG ruled out the ₦5k allowance it promised poor Nigerians. Instead of assisting them the FG wants to take from them via fuel price.
