The Federal Government has launched a digital platform to attract investment into Nigeria’s tourism and creative industries. This Nigeria creative economy platform initiative targets a $100 billion contribution to the economy. It also aims for over three million jobs by 2030.
According to The PUNCH, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, unveiled the Destination 2030 platform. The Nigeria creative economy platform, also known as D30, was launched in Abuja on Tuesday, October 13.
Musawa explained that the initiative would provide reliable information to help investors identify opportunities in Nigeria’s music, film, fashion, tourism and other creative sectors. Clearly, the availability of a Nigeria creative economy platform will boost awareness of these opportunities.
“Today, we are not simply unveiling a technology platform. We are taking a deliberate step towards changing how Nigeria understands, measures and harnesses the economic value of its cultural and creative assets,” she said.

The minister explained that D30 would combine industry research, infrastructure mapping and economic information to support investment decisions.
She said the platform would help investors assess opportunities for film production facilities, tourism destinations and other creative businesses. This would be done through the Nigeria creative economy platform.
Musawa noted that Nigeria’s entertainment industry had become increasingly influential internationally. However, it required stronger infrastructure and investment to achieve its full economic potential.
She added that the initiative would support the government’s objective of creating more than three million jobs. Furthermore, it aims at generating a $100 billion contribution to gross domestic product by 2030.
“We have not always had the reliable, accessible and comprehensive data required to understand the true scale of our opportunities,” she stated.
D30 platform targets job creation
Musawa stressed that achieving the targets would require cooperation between government agencies, businesses and private investors.
The ministry developed the platform in partnership with Cavista, which provided technical expertise for the initiative.
The ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abdulkarim Ozi, said D30 would provide a centralised source of economic information for investors and policymakers.
He explained that the platform’s success would depend on how effectively the information helped businesses expand and create employment.
The Federal Government encouraged stakeholders across the tourism and creative industries to contribute reliable information to the Nigeria creative economy platform.
Musawa maintained that the initiative would help transform Nigeria’s cultural assets into sustainable economic opportunities.
