Nigerian comedian and actor Bovi Ugboma has promised an entertaining experience at his upcoming stand-up comedy show, “Bovi: Guilty As Charged,” scheduled for Sunday, October 11.

According to The PUNCH, the event will take place at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, featuring topical humour and observations about everyday human behaviour.

Speaking during a press conference, Bovi explained that the show’s title followed his tradition of building comedy performances around specific themes.

He said the new production would explore different social issues through humour while maintaining his commitment to entertaining audiences.

Bovi promises value for comedy audience

The comedian explained that he placed considerable importance on delivering quality performances because audiences pay to attend his shows.

“I have been doing this for so many years and I have never taken my audience for granted,” he said.

Bovi also addressed the possibility of discussing political issues during the performance.

He maintained that comedians should have the freedom to explore different subjects while recognising the distinction between humour and personal insults.

The entertainer explained that his intention was to encourage laughter rather than offend people unnecessarily.

He also discussed his preference for limiting appearances by other established comedians at his shows.

According to Bovi, the decision reflected both financial considerations and his approach to delivering a complete stand-up performance.

The comedian expressed confidence that “Guilty As Charged” would provide audiences with relatable stories and memorable entertainment.

The show is scheduled to take place on Sunday in Lagos.
