Some of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment figures, including Toyin Abraham, Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus and Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, have been named members of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council. This is ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to The Punch, the entertainers were included in the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre. The council is scheduled for inauguration on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus take leadership roles
Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, was named Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Veteran actor Jide Kosoko will serve as Co-Director, while actress Eniola Badmus was appointed Deputy Director.
Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was named Secretary, with Dare Olateju serving as Assistant Secretary.
The directorate also features several prominent Nollywood personalities, including Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello. Bimbo Akintola, Bukky Wright, Saheed Balogun, Fathia Balogun, Foluke Daramola, Yinka Quadri, Tayo Sobola and Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi are also included.
Fuji stars join Lagos APC campaign council
The music industry is strongly represented, with Fuji stars Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, Adewale Ayuba and Sulaimon Alao Adekunle, popularly known as Malaika. In addition, Akorede Babatunde Okunola, known as Saheed Osupa, is making the list.
Singer Small Doctor, whose real name is Temitope Adekunle, was also named as a member of the directorate.
Altogether, more than 30 personalities from the entertainment and creative industries were included in the directorate. This comes as the Lagos APC strengthens its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate forms part of the wider Lagos APC Campaign Council. The council also comprises several other directorates and sub-committees responsible for the party’s election activities.
