Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has accused House of Representatives member James Faleke of attempting to influence the collation of results in the Osun State governorship election.
According to Vanguard, the singer made the allegation in a post on his X account on Saturday. Meanwhile, collation continued following the August 15 governorship poll.
Davido, who is a nephew of Governor Ademola Adeleke, urged Faleke to respect the decision of Osun voters. He also asked Faleke to refrain from putting pressure on the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“Hon. James Faleke, stop putting pressure on INEC to change Osun election result. Respect the wishes of Osun people. We don’t want Oyetola and AMBO,” Davido wrote.

The singer’s comment came amid heightened attention on the collation process. Political parties and their supporters were closely monitoring results from polling units, wards and local government areas.
Davido specifically rejected any alleged attempt to alter the outcome in favour of former Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola. Furthermore, he rejected attempts to favour All Progressives Congress candidate Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
His intervention follows earlier calls from Governor Adeleke for INEC to maintain integrity throughout the collation process. It also follows calls for INEC to ensure that the will of voters is protected.
As result collation continues across Osun, political stakeholders have continued to urge electoral officials and security agencies to ensure transparency. Moreover, they ask officials to maintain peace until the final outcome is declared.
