American R&B singer, Chris Brown, has pleaded guilty to affray in relation to a 2023 confrontation at a London nightclub, marking a major turn in the criminal case involving the music star.
Brown, 37, entered the guilty plea on Friday at Southwark Crown Court during a brief hearing that lasted less than five minutes.
His co-defendant, American rapper Omololu Akinlolu, 40, popularly known as Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to the same charge.
The development came after prosecutors withdrew the more serious allegation of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm (GBH), which both men had previously denied. A separate accusation against Brown involving possession of an offensive weapon was also dropped.
Following the acceptance of the affray plea, the court scheduled October 26, 2026, as the date for sentencing.
The case relates to a reported altercation at a London nightclub in 2023, although details surrounding the incident were not discussed during Friday’s short court session.
Brown and Akinlolu are expected to appear again before Southwark Crown Court later this year for the sentencing proceedings.
