Tinubu, Atiku join Muslim faithful for Eid prayers in Lagos, Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday observed Eid prayers with Muslim faithful at Dodan Barracks in Lagos alongside political associates and worshippers.

The development was disclosed in a post on X by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who stated that the President participated in the Eid Mubarak prayers at the military facility in the company of party leaders and other Muslim faithful.

Among those who accompanied the President were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; and Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, alongside other worshippers.

Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar joined Muslim faithful at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers.

In a message posted on his social media handle, Atiku said he attended the prayers to appreciate Allah for His blessings.

“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.

The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party also urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, peace, and sacrifice during the celebration.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” Atiku stated.

He also extended Eid greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world while praying for continued peace and prosperity in the country.
