American rapper, Kodak Black, has been released on a $75,000 bond after appearing before a court over a felony drug trafficking allegation in Florida.

The artiste, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail on Wednesday over accusations linked to trafficking MDMA, a synthetic psychoactive substance widely referred to as ecstasy or molly. Court filings indicated that he pleaded not guilty to the charge and demanded a jury trial.

At Thursday’s hearing, the presiding judge approved bail in the sum of $75,000, reportedly taking into consideration Kapri’s prior felony convictions before arriving at the ruling.

Investigators disclosed that the matter originated from an incident in Orlando in November 2025 when officers responded to reports of gunshots around several parked luxury vehicles. During a search of one of the vehicles, police allegedly recovered MDMA, cash, and documents carrying Kodak Black’s name inside a pink bag. Authorities further claimed that the bag resembled one previously displayed in photos shared on the rapper’s Instagram account.

Reacting to the development, his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, dismissed the allegations and maintained that the rapper was not inside the vehicle searched by law enforcement officials. Cohen also described the arrest as a “coordinated surrender” tied to a case he argued should not have been initiated.

The 28-year-old musician has previously had several encounters with the law, including earlier cases involving weapons and drug-related offences.
