Former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson, has declared that the Nigeria Democratic Congress is prepared to exceed expectations despite its relatively recent formation.

Dickson made this known on Sunday while receiving former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and ex-Kano State Governor, Musa Kwankwaso, into the party.

He emphasized that the NDC stands out as a political platform free from internal divisions and legal disputes.

He said, “On behalf of the leaders of our party and on behalf of the teeming members of our party, well-meaning Nigerians from all over our country, who in the five months have defied all odds and conquered all doubts, and invested their trust and confidence in the dream and vision of this party. On behalf of all of them, I thank you all, and I welcome you all, especially to the NDC and my humble home.”

While acknowledging the party’s youth, Dickson maintained that it possesses the capacity to compete strongly, stating it is ready to “box above its weight”.

“I welcome you to Nigeria’s fastest-growing political party. I welcome you all to Nigeria’s most stable political party,” he added.

He further described Obi and Kwankwaso as highly qualified figures, noting that necessary party procedures would be disclosed at the appropriate time.

In his remarks, Obi urged members of the party to avoid legal disputes, stressing unity and cooperation. He said: “Please let there be no litigation. Party members, please don’t go to court. We want to build a party, we are not lawyers.”
