Principal officers of the National Assembly, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, have congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 74th birthday.

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu also paid tribute to Tinubu in separate statements.

Akpabio described Tinubu as an audacious and visionary leader with the Midas touch to reset the country. He noted that the President had demonstrated “astute leadership, advocating for democratic values and bold economic reforms,” adding that although the reforms came at a cost, they had already begun to yield dividends.

He pledged the Senate’s continued support for Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the National Assembly would continue to collaborate with and complement his efforts to bequeath enduring and indelible legacies for future generations.

“Mr President, I must admit that you are an audacious and visionary leader whose quest to set the nation on a transformational pedestal is never in doubt. Your leadership, vision, and dedication to our great nation are truly inspiring. As Senate President, I have had the privilege of working closely with you, and I must say that your passion for Nigeria’s progress is contagious,” Akpabio said.

Abbas described the President as a pro-democracy figure, seasoned public administrator, and freedom fighter who has made significant contributions to the country’s democratic journey. He said Tinubu had built a strong network of progressive Nigerians committed to the vision of a better country and collective national pride.

The statement added that under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria is recording far-reaching reforms and realignment of its resources for the betterment of the people and for generations to come.

Kalu praised Tinubu’s leadership, describing it as visionary and impactful. He commended Tinubu’s commitment to national development and his economic policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The economic initiatives and policies anchored on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to impact positively on the citizens and the generations to come,” Kalu said. He also wished the President continued good health and wisdom in steering the affairs of the nation.

Jibrin commended Tinubu’s leadership and reform efforts since assuming office in May 2023, noting that his administration had remained focused on repositioning the country for long-term growth and stability.

He offered prayers for the President, asking God to grant him sound health and longevity to realise his vision of transforming Nigeria into a prosperous nation. Barau also expressed optimism about Tinubu’s electoral prospects, projecting a decisive victory for the President in the 2027 general election.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration, stressing that the President remains committed to advancing the nation’s development and addressing its challenges.
