Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has linked the rising dominance of the All Progressives Congress to the leadership style of President Bola Tinubu, stating that the party continues to gain strength across the country.

He explained that the President’s governance approach is reinforcing the APC while reducing the influence of opposition parties nationwide.

Akpabio spoke on Friday in Abuja at the APC 8th National Convention and 4th Elective Convention.

According to him, “APC is showing the way. I want to say that, as a result of the good governance brought by Mr President, there are now only two political parties in Nigeria: APC and others, APC and others.

“Mr President, since you assumed office, this is your first major convention. The last was when you emerged as the candidate of our great party.”

Akpabio expressed appreciation for what he described as governance that is attracting more Nigerians to the ruling party, pointing to key policy decisions.

“I thank you because what is attracting Nigerians to the APC today is good governance.

“From the removal of fuel subsidies to the unification of multiple exchange rates, and reforms in the education sector, you have delivered progress that is expanding opportunities for students nationwide.”

He also cited developments in agriculture and infrastructure, describing the administration’s policies as practical and impactful.

“You have also driven an agricultural revolution. Your policies are practical. People can now travel from Lagos to Ibadan and from Lagos to Calabar.

“As I speak, I have personally travelled on the coastal roads we envisioned over 50 years ago in the Niger Delta region.”
