The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun 1 Area Command, Idiroko, has intercepted 10 parcels of narcotics of different sizes at various locations across the state between Jan. 1 and Jan. 29.

The Area Comptroller, Mr Olukayode Afeni, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Idiroko.

Afeni expressed concern over the increasing rate of cannabis sativa seizures, noting that a total of 56 seizures had already been recorded in 2025.

“We are worried because this highlights a persistent supply chain driven by local demand.

“However, the command will be utilising all available resources to track these traffickers and disrupt their supply chain,” he said.

The area comptroller called on traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders to intensify sensitisation efforts among youths in their communities to help rid society of drug abuse.

He also warned individuals involved in drug trafficking to desist from such activities and embrace lawful means of livelihood, stressing that offenders would face the full weight of the law if apprehended.
