FIFA has announced a historic prize money package for the maiden FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, with the winners set to receive $2.3 million, the highest single prize ever awarded in women’s club football.

The world football body disclosed this in a post shared on its official X handle on Friday.

According to FIFA, the runners-up at the tournament will earn $1 million for reaching the final, which is scheduled to hold at the Arsenal Stadium on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Clubs that exit the competition at the semi-final stage will receive $200,000 each, while the two teams knocked out in the opening round, Auckland United FC of New Zealand and Wuhan Chegu Jiangda WFC of China PR, will go home with $100,000 each.

In total, FIFA said nearly $4 million will be shared among the six clubs taking part in the competition.

Reacting to the announcement, FIFA Secretary General, Mattias Grafström, said the prize money shows strong belief in the women’s game.

“A total payout of close to USD 4 million distributed among the six participants based on their performance is a clear statement of the belief in women’s club football and the players, teams and competitions driving its continued rise,” Grafström said.

He added that the move reflects the rapid growth of women’s football across the world and FIFA’s long-term commitment to the game.

“It reflects the global growth of the women’s game and FIFA’s commitment to making targeted, meaningful investments that strengthen women’s club football for the long term. Our focus is clear: to continue investing in, growing, and elevating women’s club football at every level, ensuring that opportunity, visibility, and value keep pace with the exceptional performances seen on the pitch,” he said.

FIFA noted that the prize structure is part of its wider plan to increase investment and raise standards in women’s club football globally.

The football body also recalled that it paid $11.3 million to 1,041 clubs worldwide through the FIFA Club Benefits Programme following the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.

With the record prize money now confirmed, the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2026 is expected to set a new standard for women’s club competitions and boost the profile of the women’s game worldwide.
