Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has strongly condemned the bomb explosion that targeted road users in Zamfara State and resulted in the death of seven people.

Reports indicate that suspected terrorists planted an Improvised Explosive Device along the Magami–Dansadau highway in Maru Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.

The device reportedly exploded as a bus conveying passengers travelled along the route, leading to multiple fatalities.

Describing the attack as cowardly, the Speaker expressed concern that the incident occurred shortly after the Nigerian and United States governments launched a joint operation against terrorism, including airstrikes on terrorist hideouts in parts of the North-West.

Speaker Abbas said acts of terrorism, banditry, and other crimes against the state would continue to be resisted.

He noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has introduced new strategic security measures aimed at curbing criminal activities across the country.

He further stated that Nigerians have remained resolute and increasingly supportive of government efforts to confront threats to lives and property nationwide.

The Speaker reaffirmed the commitment of the House of Representatives, and the National Assembly as a whole, to providing the necessary legislative and budgetary support required to achieve a safer and more secure Nigeria.

He also prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant eternal rest to the souls of those who lost their lives in the attack.
In addition, Speaker Abbas extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and government of Zamfara State over the tragic incident.
