The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has removed the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, Michael Ango, from office.
The announcement was issued late Friday through a statement by the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the decision takes effect immediately. Olayinka said, “The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, Mr Michael Ango.”
He added that Wike has directed the most senior official in the agency to take over the administration of the FCT-IRS without delay.
The statement did not give any reasons for Ango’s removal.
