At least 15 farmers from Ungwan Nungu community in Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have been kidnapped by gunmen while returning from their farms.

The abduction, which took place on Saturday, November 29, 2025, has created tension in the community as families anxiously await information about the victims.

Reacting to the incident, the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Daniel Amos, described the attack as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Amos said the development highlights the worsening insecurity that rural dwellers continue to grapple with.

“Our people deserve to live without fear. Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance,” he said.

The lawmaker urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and surrounding communities to remain calm and refrain from any actions that might worsen the situation.

He further appealed for vigilance and cooperation with security operatives.

Amos called for a coordinated security intervention to ensure the safe return of the abducted farmers.

“I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the abducted persons.

“We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations and the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators,” he stated.

He expressed sympathy for the affected families and assured them that efforts were in motion to secure the release of the victims.

“All of us feel the pain of the families. We will continue to push for every necessary action until the victims are safely reunited with their loved ones,” he added.

Amos reaffirmed that the safety and welfare of his constituents remain his highest priority and urged communities not to lose hope despite growing security concerns.
