President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his re-election as Governor of Anambra State, describing it as a strong validation of his performance and leadership in the past four years.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Tinubu said Soludo’s victory at the polls made him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term.

“I congratulate Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as the governor of Anambra State. The overwhelming victory he recorded in Saturday’s poll has now made him the third governor in the state’s political history to win a second term,” Tinubu said.

The President commended the people of Anambra, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission for ensuring a peaceful and credible election. He described the outcome as “a testament to Soludo’s visionary leadership and the progress achieved under his administration.”

Tinubu praised the Anambra governor for introducing discipline, accountability, and intellectual depth to governance, saying he had shown how academic knowledge could be applied to public service.

“Governor Soludo has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be applied in serving the people. Under him, Anambra is living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu stated.

He recalled his visit to Anambra in May, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing the experience as “remarkable and indelible.”

Tinubu urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and work with his opponents for the unity and progress of the state.

“I assure Governor Soludo of my unwavering support, and I look forward to continued collaboration between Anambra and the Federal Government,” he said.

He added that APGA’s victory in the election reflected the strength of Nigeria’s democracy and the belief that “a hardworking and progressive leader’s victory cannot be denied.”

Tinubu also commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for what he described as a transparent and credible exercise, urging the commission to sustain the standard.
