The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority says it has completed the recovery of a gas tanker that fell earlier on Monday along the Chisco–Victoria Island corridor.
In a fresh update signed by the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA confirmed that the tanker has been safely removed and the road is now open for vehicular movement.
“Recovery is finally completed and the truck has been towed off the road. The Kara Bridge section is now open for vehicular movement, and traffic backlog is expected to fade off gradually. Thank you for your patience,” the statement read.
The agency earlier warned motorists of possible traffic disruptions while recovery operations were ongoing.
It also urged drivers to cooperate with traffic officers and follow diversion instructions to ensure safety.
LASTMA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining safety on Lagos roads and thanked motorists for their understanding during the recovery period.
