President Bola Tinubu has nominated Bernard Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic, following the election of Nentawe Yilwatda as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said in a statement on Tuesday that the president has written to the Senate, seeking Doro’s confirmation.

Doro’s nomination comes after Yilwatda, who previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, took up the APC leadership position in July.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro has more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, and community health leadership in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, as well as an MBA in IT-driven business strategy. He also has a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice and works as an Independent Prescriber with frontline experience in the UK’s National Health Service.

According to the presidency, Doro’s medical experience covers urgent care, general practice, and hospital services. He has also led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both in the diaspora and locally.

Onanuga added that President Tinubu expects the Senate to give prompt attention and fair consideration to Doro’s nomination.
