Actress Yvonne Jegede has advised her colleague, Regina Daniels, to walk away from her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko if the reports of domestic violence are true.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Jegede said no one should remain in a violent relationship, stressing that abuse is unacceptable whether directed at a man or a woman.
She wrote, “Regina, you are still very young. If there’s violence in your marriage, please carry your bag. There is never sugarcoating for me as long as violence is involved (both for man and woman).”
Jegede urged Regina to protect her peace of mind and focus on raising her children in a healthy environment.
Her advice followed a viral video where Regina Daniels tearfully alleged that she had suffered abuse in her marriage and could no longer endure it. She claimed she felt powerless in her husband’s home but empowered in her own space.
The video has stirred wide reactions from fans and women’s rights advocates, many of whom called for investigations into the allegations.
Reacting to the claims, Ned Nwoko denied ever assaulting Regina. He alleged that she was battling drug and alcohol addiction, which he said had caused their marital problems.
Nwoko further accused her of violent behavior, property destruction, and neglecting their child’s health needs, insisting she needed rehabilitation.
Regina’s brother has since defended her publicly, condemning the alleged abuse and urging her to prioritize her safety.
