Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has vowed to file fresh legal action against her colleague, Lizzy Anjorin, over alleged defamatory remarks and threats directed at her family.
Her renewed warning comes months after the Lagos State High Court, Osborne Division, struck out her N1bn defamation suit against Anjorin on procedural grounds and ordered her lawyer, Olabimpe Ajegbomogun, to pay N500,000 costs to Anjorin’s counsel, Ademola Olabiyi.
Both actresses have been locked in a long-running feud that has spilled across social media and the courts.
In several Facebook live streams, Anjorin has mocked Ojo, sparking a wave of parody videos on TikTok and Facebook.
Reacting in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Ojo said she had kept quiet on legal advice but confirmed that her lawyers were documenting all remarks.
“My legal team isn’t sleeping. They are taking note of everything. A wise person listens to learned counsel. Everything has its timing,” she wrote.
While admitting that some parody videos amused her, Ojo said Anjorin’s curses and alleged death wishes toward her family were disturbing.
“The insults, curses, even death wishes Liz has directed at my family, especially my grandson, are heartbreaking. Most times, I struggle to hold my peace, but I choose to ignore the distractions. Who God has blessed, no one can curse,” she added.
Ojo explained that she had focused in recent months on welcoming her first grandchild and supporting her daughter but hinted at stronger legal steps when she returns to Lagos.
The feud deepened after Ojo alleged that Anjorin should be held responsible if anything happened to her or her family. This followed a fire incident at Ojo’s Lagos office, which her daughter, Priscilla, linked to threats, including a letter received in May claiming their movements were being monitored.
Ojo has said her fallout with Anjorin began after she publicly expressed support for Folashade Tinubu, wife of Anjorin’s husband, which triggered attacks and accusations.
Their bitter rivalry, marked by petitions, lawsuits, and online hostilities, remains one of Nollywood’s most contentious disputes.
