Wike and I are working together, Fubara affirms reconciliation

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has affirmed that he now enjoys a cordial relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, following recent political tensions in the state.

Speaking with State House correspondents shortly after meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Fubara assured that normalcy and political stability have returned to Rivers.

The meeting took place on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the State House, where President Tinubu received the governor amid continued efforts to sustain peace in the state.

“I don’t know what you mean by if this is a paper peace. As far as I’m concerned, we have made peace. Fubara and his principal are working together,” the governor stated when asked about the sincerity of the reconciliation.

Fubara also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his intervention and support, which he said contributed significantly to restoring peace and promoting development in Rivers State.
