Prominent gospel singers Nathaniel Bassey and Victoria Orenze have joined a global outpouring of grief following the tragic death of American conservative activist and media personality, Charlie Kirk.
Recall that Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. during a student-led event held in a courtyard secured by six university officers.
Bassey offered prayers for the late activist, writing: “Pained. Rest in the Lord, Charlie Kirk.” Orenze also expressed her condolences, describing Kirk as a steadfast follower of Christ.
She posted on Instagram: *“TRUTH CANNOT BE KILLED! TRUTH CANNOT BE SILENCED! TRUTH CANNOT BE STOPPED!
Charlie Kirk, a true soldier of CHRIST, is with THE TRUTH (JESUS CHRIST)!!! What glory!
Satan, for every time you try and an army rise instead! WE ARE NOT AFRAID!!!!!
His wife, children and family are wrapped by the comfort of the HOLY GHOST in JESUS’ name!
We are clearly in the last days, Believers!!! We must boldly stand for JESUS CHRIST (THE TRUTH)!!!!!!! We can’t play church anymore!!!! These times were foretold! John 16:2.”*
Kirk, 31, was a notable ally of former President Donald Trump and the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative organization credited with mobilizing young Republican voters across the country.
In response to the incident, Trump ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in Kirk’s honor and attributed the shooting to the “radical left.” Kirk’s death has sparked international outrage and sorrow, with tributes continuing to flood in from around the world.
Authorities are actively searching for the suspect, with CCTV footage currently under review. The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are assisting in the investigation. Utah Governor Spencer Cox has hinted at the possibility of capital punishment in the case.
