Nigerians, Rwandans mourn gospel star Gogo Gloriose

Nigerians have expressed deep sorrow alongside Rwandans following the death of renowned Rwandan gospel artist Gloriose Musabyimana, widely known as Gogo Gloriose.

According to reports, the gospel singer passed away on Wednesday, September 3, in Kampala at the age of 36.

Her passing was officially confirmed a day later, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, by her media manager, Bikem wa Yesu.

The news of her death came as a shock to many across Rwanda, Uganda, and Nigeria, where she had built a growing fanbase.

Bikem, who accompanied Gogo to Uganda for a concert tour, took to social media to share his grief, writing, “R.I.P. Gogo, what terrible news! God, strengthen my heart.”

While the exact cause of her death has not been officially disclosed, PulseUG reported that she had been battling heart-related complications.

In another sorrowful development, Nigerian actress Joke Silva recently announced the loss of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, who died at the age of 72. The veteran Nollywood star shared the news on August 29, 2025, via her Instagram page, posting his photograph along with a heartfelt tribute. The announcement drew condolences from many within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
