The Actors Guild of Nigeria has set up a three-member Asset Recovery Panel aimed at tracing and reclaiming properties of the guild allegedly mismanaged or wrongfully taken over by former leadership.

AGN National President, Dr. Emeka Rollas, inaugurated the panel on Wednesday during an interactive session with the guild’s Board of Trustees in Abuja, which also featured the formal unveiling of the new national secretariat.

The panel is chaired by Onwurah Ifeanyi, with Garba Muazu as secretary and Sydney Diala as a member. According to Rollas, the team is mandated to recover various assets belonging to the guild, including vehicles, office furnishings, landed properties, equipment, and other infrastructure lost over the past 20 years.

“To safeguard our future and set a clear deterrent against such practices, we have set up the AGN Asset Recovery Panel. This panel is empowered to trace, identify, and recover these assets, whether financial, material, or infrastructural, working with allied government agencies like the Police, EFCC and ICPC,” Rollas said.

He noted that the initiative aims not only to restore the guild’s rightful assets but also to reinforce transparency and accountability within its structure.

As part of preparations for leadership transition, Rollas also revealed that the BOT had constituted the AGN National Electoral Committee (AGNEC) to oversee upcoming elections.

Reflecting on his tenure, now in its final phase, Rollas highlighted milestones including the launch of the AGN Super App, a retail health management scheme for affordable healthcare, and efforts to promote unity among members.

In his remarks, BOT Secretary Sonny McDon praised Rollas and his administration for their “passionate commitment” to the guild, stating that their accomplishments had earned the full backing of the board.
