Prominent figures from the Nollywood film industry gathered to honour Odunlade Adekola during a Christian wake held in memory of his late father, Pastor N.A. Adekola.
Pastor Adekola, who died in July at the age of 84, is being laid to rest through a series of funeral rites spanning Ekiti and Ogun states.
A Service of Songs was conducted on August 18 at Christ Apostolic Church, Akole, in Abeokuta. This was followed by a Christian wake and lying-in-state held on August 20 in Otun Ekiti.
The final interment is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 21, in Otun Ekiti, with a thanksgiving service and reception planned for the same day.
Among the mourners were well-known Nollywood personalities such as Ibrahim Chatta, Muyiwa Ademola, Eniola Ajao, and Ireti Osayemi. They joined family members, colleagues, and supporters in paying their respects to the late cleric.
Odunlade Adekola had shared news of his father’s passing in July via his Instagram page. Since then, fans and colleagues have continued to offer condolences and tributes in his honour.
